A meeting took place between the Chairman of the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan (NANNOUz), Mr. K. Ishanhojaev, the Public Foundation for the Support of NGOs of Uzbekistan, and Mr. Andre Algermissen, the representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in Central Asia.

The main focus of the meeting was on supporting civil society institutions, developing the activities of non-governmental non-profit organizations, defining the directions of bilateral cooperation, and effectively integrating NGOs into international processes, taking into account Germany’s experience.

During the meeting, information was presented about the activities of the National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan, the projects being implemented by its members, the legal, institutional, and financial conditions created for NGOs, as well as the mechanisms of social partnership between the state and civil society institutions.

In turn, Mr. Andre Algermissen provided information about the activities of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, its goals and objectives. It was noted that the foundation operates to support human rights, democracy, and the principles of the rule of law in Germany, as well as to develop an active civil society. Today, KAS has offices in more than 70 countries and implements projects in 120 countries worldwide.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to cooperate on joint projects, to hold an event dedicated to the International Day of Democracy on September 15, and to establish partnerships with NGOs in Germany.
